Raise your hand if you stayed sober last night!
Raise your hand if you stayed sober last night! Saturdays are tough ones, but hopefully you got through it.
Raising my hand and waving it happily.
For those of you who did...
For those of you who didn't, today is a NEW DAY - get back up, dust yourself off, and try again.

i stayed sober after a full day of house painting... never done that beforw, and it felt so good! (sacking out at 8:45pm from sheer exhaustion pretty good too!)
back at the painting today... totally sober, and completely amazed by how straight my cut-in lines are without a couple of bottles of wine in my system!

I woke up this morning feeling awful. My entire body is wracked with pain. But it's all fine with me because over-doing it a bit at the gym and then helping a friend move were positive things. No shame like with a hangover.
No one ever lied to me, saying you'll wake up every morning with the sun and birds singing outside your window. But I can wake up sober. That I have the power to do.
Do any of you ever feel like you are "replacing" your addictions with others? I know I have an addictive personality. I have been guzzling caffeine all weekend (also not good for me.), went shopping (another bad habit of mine), and took half an adderall (off script) to study.
I am proud of myself for staying away from alcohol all weekend. But sometimes, I wonder, where does it stop??! I think I need to get addicted to going to the gym -- if only that were as easy for me as things that are bad for me.
