Helping Others While working today, I was able to help another person by talking with them about alcohol consumption, trying to quit, and the best remedy to help. The only remedy that I believe is effective, is reaching out to other alcoholics. Knowing that you are not alone, and that other people can relate to the struggle seems to be the #1 tool that is needed in the sobriety toolbox. This has been my experience. My experience is the only place that I feel knowledgeable enough to speak from. I wrote down the SR address, and thought that this place would be a good place to start. If it was not for this forum, I don't know how I would have made it through the recent dark times, and I thank you all for your support. I want all of us to be free from the hell that alcohol has created. We deserve a beautiful life. It feels good to help.:tyou |
Thanks to you for being here too Miz :) D |
Thank you |
Mizzuno, You did something great there! June |
It feels good to be there and to help. No man is an Island. |
Could not agree more! Good Job Mizz! Paying it back is a very important part of getting sober, IMHO. Glad you were able to lend an ear and some advice to someone. I'm with you.... w/o SR I don't think I could have kept it together for over a year now. We are FAMILY and we need to prop each other up when it is needed. A big THANK YOU! to all the wonderful members of SR! |

Awesome, Mizz! You are always extremely helpful here so I am sure the person you spoke with benefited from your wisdom and kindness as much as the rest of us do on a regular basis. And yes, so well put...we all do deserve a beautiful life! |
I always feel like it's a win when all that frustration , misery , anxiety , pain and hurt can be turned around so i can draw on thoses experiences to hopefully help and encourage someone else. Thanks Mizz , m |
