Welcome, Areg, you will find lots of good information and support here. The first step is the desire to quit. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted.

welcome areg

outside of AA I'm not sure what else is offered in Sweden.
You could do worse than posting regularly here tho - there's a lot of support

Check out our Class of August 2013 thread in this forum for support from others trying to quit this month

Areg, hopefully someone with more experience will jump in as I am still very early in my recovery although have been sober for longer patches in the past. Admitting you have a problem is the first step, do you have a plan? Are you thinking about AA? I know you say you are secular but lots of folks in AA are. If not comfortable with AA there is information on this site about other programs as well. What will you do to replace your drinking behavior? What is your trigger? Is it after work? What will you do to fill that time?

Areg, the chat room is always available. Go to the top of the page, right, and you will see "chat" jump in, the people in the chat room will listen and help.

Is there any sort of hotline available in Sweden you can call? Even if it is AA they will just listen for now.

Well, you have done that here. There is no AA hotline available in Sweden? Let me google and see what I can find. In the mean time keep posting so you can get into chat. What do you do for a living?
