Sobriety Bracelet with Sobriety Date stamped on it - question

I just ordered this really pretty bracelet on Etsy:

It's a birthday present from my husband.

I was wondering about the date being stamped on it. I do want the date on it, because it really means something to me to be able to look down and see that. But what if someone asks me about it? What would you say? I mean, I know it's no one's business and I can just say "oh it's a special date for me" or whatever... but I was thinking I could either get the date like 04-01-2013, or maybe a roman numeral date, or something not so easily recognizable... like the date in Hebrew for example.

What would you all do?

Oh wow, that's such a cool idea. I might get one of those myself.

As for the date, yeah it would depend on who I was talking to. With some people I might say that it was my sobriety date as it'd be an easy way to tell them I've "gone sober" without having to bring it up myself. With others, yeah, I might just say it's a special date to me. But getting it in Hebrew would also be cool, especially if that's a special language to you. I might get mine in Russian.

Cool idea!
I would just tell people it was my anniversary. For what, they don't need to know.
I think an interesting way to do the date would be great....but have no good ideas yet.
I broke my wrist in a blackout towards the end of my drinking, and when I was at the emergency room they did not set it right, so my wrist looks kind of strange. I wear big cuff bracelets on that wrist now and they make me happy because when I look at my strange wrist with the cool cuff I know I am sober. I have all sorts of them, depending on my mood and wardrobe.

No worries.
as far as the date goes, tell them whatever you're comfortable with, I guess?

I'd just tell them it is a special day for me and if they persist, I'd repeat what I said until they stop asking. It's called the 'broken record' technique and it works to make rude people stop asking nosey questions.

Ooh, I love it! What a great idea, and a visual motivator if tempted...I'd play it mysterious, like, "It's a secret message". Cause I'm a dork that way.

You could always say it was the day that you had an epiphany that life is too short to take for granted. Something like that.....Or, I like what least said.

Very nice Bracelet Jennie!

I think the date would look well in Old Babylonian. Then when folks ask, you can say, "Old Babylonian of course! Isn't that a bit obvious?"
Then, if they say, "But what date is that? What is the significance of the date?" Then you raise your eyebrows, roll your eyeballs upward and say, "Well, that's a whole other story, isn't it?"

The day the aliens returned you to earth? You "flew up" in girl scouts? You lost your virginity? I'm wicked. I would probably have a whole host of ridiculous answers. I like the other language thing too. I'm sure whatever you decide will be perfect for YOU : )
