Sorry you didn't make the cut August. I know it can be hard but try to be grateful. You did say the other day that you ARE able to work. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise..you really just never know. Pump out some positive thoughts and see what you get back. May take a little while but I always end up with good results and am often grateful for things I don't get that I thought would be good at the time. You are sober and therefore awesome, be proud You have the clarity now to think yourself through anything!

I think quit makes some great points AW - it's not gold on the disability allowance, believe me.

If I had my way I'd rather work, y'know?

Whatever happens, you will be better able to handle things if you stay sober so keep at it my friend!

Ohh I know Dee, I want to work, trust me that is why I have pushed my so hard. But living arraignments here are a bitch. We are seeing if I CA work some & get some housing help. As it is I only make 140 above the cut off . But we'll see the 13th. Ohh yea night all, I work to night.

I feel you, AW. That IS frustrating.

But that doesn't sound like gold to me. For us addicts, it sounds like getting a government check to barely survive in miserable hell.

Yea it would be; but I want to get housing help & work so I am not homeless .. Which is what I am running right towards . That would not happen cause I will just go back to my home town and knowing me be dead in a year .. So either or I am screwed at this point I guess ..

I don't know about US but in the UK you can still get housing assistance ifyou are working-it depends on what your income is whether from work or non work benefits. Perhaps there is something similar in the US?
