Today will be exactly two weeks for me! I honestly can't even believe how different things are already. I've been going to meetings daily and I'm so full of joy and gratitude. I didn't realize that the last 16 years spent numbing my pain also muted my joy. I am feeling things fully and I honestly haven't had an urge to drink since that time I posted during week one. I know it's a process but I already feel like I've made leaps and bounds in my thinking and approach to life. Thank you all. Even when I don't participate, I read what you all are posting and it inspires me!

Thanks for sharing the joy part with us; it's a good reminder that when we drink or use drugs we miss everything and that includes feelings of true happiness! So cool you are noticing that.

2 weeks is amazing! Today marks 1 week for me! It's unbelievable how much sobriety affects your view on the world. For me, it's no longer a dark place that can only be made tolerable by intoxication. There's a lot of good in the world too, and the best way to appreciate it is with a clear head.
