I didn't have to lie today...
Today I didn't have to lie when my roommates asked me what I was going to do today. I didn't have to lie later when they asked me what I did all day. I didn't have to lie to myself by saying "It's the last time" when I woke up this morning. I didn't have to lie to myself saying "tomorrow you can get that done." I didn't lie when I said "goodnight" to my friends because I wasn't going to smuggle alcohol to my room to stay up late and drink. I didn't have to lie. I didn't have to lie once today and I can't remember the last time I've made it through a day without lying.
I also didn't have to spend my day nursing a headache or nausea, panicking about how I would get all the things done that I needed to do, watching mindless TV by myself, hiding out in my room, planning my lies, looking for opportunities to get what I wanted.
Instead I woke up, prayed, ate breakfast with my roommates, cleaned the house, went for a walk, enjoyed a movie, cried a little bit this afternoon, and am enjoying a cup of tea before I get ready for bed.
I never want to lose this freedom again. It scares me to think how easy it would be and I just wanted to share in the hopes that it would help me hold on a little more securely to this freedom.
Thanks for listening!
