Overheard my six year old son talking to his sitter about booze...
Son: "Do you drink alcohol?"
Sitter: "No, I don't like it. I think it's bad. Also I'm not old enough yet."
Son: "I don't like it either. But my dad likes wine."
Sitter: "I don't like it because it's not good for you."
Son: "Why do people drink it?"
Sitter: "Some people like it."
Son: "But it's bad! Who invented it if it's bad for you?"
Sitter: "I don't know."
Son: "I think a bad guy invented it."
- My stomach was in knots.

hey less - like I've said before I was the neighbourhood bum - I turned that rep around.
Get sober, stay sober and the likelihood is, in the years to come, your son will not even remember you being drunk

I was just recently talking about as kids we are happy just to ride a bike. Somewhere along the line we thought the simple things weren't fun enough and we had to alter our reality. Definitely I agree with your child and I'm taking their advice. My young son started making comments to me like "why do you drink wine and beer?" He intuitively knew it wasn't a good thing. Broke my heart to be leading such a bad example. I'm working on fixing this myself.
