Sick and tired
Hi Northernliving,
Welcome to this world of a whole lot of us who felt the same way. Good news is there is a way out.
I still might be tired some days but I'm not sick anymore...at least of myself.
I hope you find what you need and welcome!

"If we do what we always did, we get what we always got." Sounds like you are in the bind most of us got to eventually. Ask yourself what you could do differently in seeking help. Have you reached out for help? If you're feeling beaten hat's okay - that's actually good - it's a lousy feeling but it will pass if you decide you will seek help today. Good
Luck and God bless.

There's a "chat" button at the top of the page, but feel free to Private message me if you like. I can't get on the chat rooms at the moment, but there will be others there to help you if you want to jump on. Hang in there...

For me that phrase in conjunction with "If we don't pick up the first drink we don't have to get sober AGAIN" opened my eyes to where I was headed fast if I didn't stop drinking. It works if we work it! BE WELL

I always seem to be able to stop if I tell myself to. But then, I say oh well I can stop so ill just drink today. So like today I say I'm done! Maybe that will last a few days.....ugh.
If you have been dealing with this misery for as long as you say, you need to put all your efforts into getting past that moment of insanity where drinking becomes an option.
Good luck.

Yes indeed - lots of us drunks, prior to working for sobriety can stop drinking - even for stretches of days or weeks, but STAYING stopped is the problem. We have an obsession with alcohol that is removed from us - will power has very little to do with it. Left to my own power I will drink again because I'm a drunk and that's what drunks do. But God has relieved me of that obsession for today, and that's an amazing thing!
