Take me out to the ball game
Well - day 6 of sobriety is completed. Feeling pretty good about it today :-)
Last night I took my kids to the SF Giants game and told myself prior to leaving (thanks to the support here) that I wasn't going to touch a drop of booze. Another first of course as ball games and beer go hand in hand.
We actually were part of a pregame event that included - you guessed it - free drinks. Good drinks too. Grey Goose. Enough said.
The kids loaded up on free soda. We all got our free headphones and headed to our seats.
The thing that hit me the most was that it was JUST as much fun (well as much fun as you can have when your team loses) being sober and drinking water as it was when I would be having beer.
This was very liberating. I thought of all places - this would have been the hardest to stay sober but it wasn't. The grass was still green, the players were still playing (although not very well) and my kids were still having a great time.
Glad I came here before heading out to the game. I had feelings of slipping willpower but got inspired from the great people here.
Now - on to day 7...

Great job, Bob! It IS a great feeling when you realize you can actually enjoy something without alcohol. Time for new and healthier habits, right? I am starting over today, but determined to make it stick this time. Have you joined the July class? Best of luck to you
