Just a simple hello....

Just wanted to say I am here and feeling good these days. I have started a few balls in motion I long have sat on doing nothing. Not anymore. It took time to gain the strength needed to continue this path of self help.

Happiness is achievable. It's a muscle to use and flex like any other. I choose my happiness today by a choice to not drink or drug. That single act of selfishness is where I am getting the will to take a step at a time.

We have a lot of new folks on the board. Welcome!

We have had some mainstays choose to take a break. I wish them well.

I don't think I will be able to ever take a break from SR. It's my daily bread.

Remember to smile today.

Ken

There were patches in my sober journey where i was perfectly happy "just doing it" and comment upon it or about stuff wasn't needed .

Thanks for touching base and thanks for letting me be on part of the journey with you K , it's great to see you working it and sounding content and happy .

Bestwishes, m

Hey Ken, thanks for your post. My brain naturally meanders toward negativity - I'm a natural born trouble-shooter (indeed, as a systems analyst, I've made a career out of looking for what's wrong!). I'm actually thinking I might need to change careers, though it's somewhat late in the day for such an action, but it lends itself too much toward my natural inclination of looking for the negative, for what is 'wrong'.

I appreciated the reminder that I do have the power to change how I think (Happiness is achievable. It's a muscle to use and flex like any other. ) The brain: the only organism in the world that can actually change itself.

Thanks for the reminder, and for the encouragement.

Thanks everyone! We all need some positivity injections at times. I know I do.

Dylan.... I happen to be a systems analyst as well. Designing a new order taking system at the moment. Even when finding bugs can be positive. Better to find them and fix the, than let them fester into bigger issues.

Ready for a sober weekend? I am.
