Hi I'm TAQ
Hi I'm TAQ
Just starting. Day 2.

Ending day 3. Going okay - all things considered (but also difficult).
Previously had drinking under control for around 25 yrs (after being very out of control throughout most of my 20s), but relapsed in last three yrs around 4 separate times - each time a little longer period of drinking and a little more difficult to stop. From what I've read here that's probably normal progression.
This past time started around 5 weeks ago (after 6 hard fought weeks of being sober). Basically beers each evening to point of blackout/pass out at home (buy beer each day on way home at different 7-11 stores to cover up drinking volume). Liquor I can't really touch, I pass out too quickly. I currently can't keep any alcohol in my home without fear of drinking to a blackout/pass out stage (although for ~ 25 yrs that wasn't a problem as I recall).
I'm single - so no direct family issues, and no work issues (yet), but I greatly miss sobriety as I knew it before relapsing. Trying harder this time.
Forum is interesting, first time I've tried opening up about drinking in my life (other than 1 AA meeting in my 20s - went with friend as support).
