Man o man

When do they toss you from newcomers. Is there a limit , like 5 years sober or 100 relapses . Lol. I'm not here to take thread response from someone who really needs it

I'm here because I still need responses. After 7 months of trying I got to a place I've wanted to be. 11 days , but Man o man , it just got harder.

I won't be setting any goals , because that just fed stinkin thinkin AV . Today ( it ) was feasting off of my accomplishment , telling me " you made your goal goal now let's get some , lets get high " . I mean I actually felt ( it ) tugging on my steering wheel . I had to muscle the wheel towards home. I made it , but , Man o man

Keep pushing forward Riky - this may be the hardest thing you'll ever do but it's also the best

Riky, well done fella. Every time you muscle that wheel towards home, you get stronger and it becomes easier to do so the next time.

Congrats. Keep going. Every time you win against your AV, the next battle is a little easier. Hang in there. One day at a time.

No worries about getting kicked out here! Yeah, goals can be a big trigger. The thing is, you should probably set some obtainable goals in the future and have a reward for achieving those goals set aside. Because it's hard to live in a world where you have no goals. If you achieve a goal or do something where you desire a reward, have sober rewards in mind because if you don't you AV is going to sneak up on you and try to insert it's own "reward." keep pulling that wheel towards home. With more sobriety, you will find that your power steering kicks in and it gets a lot easier!

I really hate slips, but they are stepping stones to long term sobriety.
The worst thing about crashing IMO is that it can set up a new and dangerous mind set far beyond the one day lapse. Shame can lead to an "oh what the heck attitude".
Presently the one day at a time no alcohol plan is working well for me, but I need to be ultra vigilant.

Nice work! Your honesty and hard work have been inspiring and have meant a lot to many of us on the board - how about you let yourself win this battle for a change? Keep it up!

Strength in numbers!

I hope you know that we are ALL pulling for you Riky! You can win the battle with the beast and soon your AV will give up and leave you alone.

Stay on point and good things will come your way. Good Job!

I love to see your posts and I love, love, love hearing this wonderful news! You're doing awesome, Ricky. You are made of tough stuff (you ARE a Pennsylvanian afterall ) and you'll beat that damn AV. Just keep throwing days at it, my friend, and one day you'll be deafened by the beautiful silence.

Cheering for you over here...11 days is fantastic!!

p.s. I also love SoberPower Steering, Lyoness. Maybe a theme for a weekend thread?

Ricky ,
you worry about getting yourself mended , i'll worry about making sure there is a responce when someone needs it ( i got a big well of positivity here don't you worry about it running dry)

At the moment it sounds like you need it

It's great that you've developed a sence of the AV , got a handle upon yourself to see whats going on. your doing well, steady as you go ..

Bestwishes, m

How did I and ALL my AA friends with +30 years sobriety miss the boat on that misinformation. The AV or shite fairy is with us for life trying to influence us, that's why we continue working the program else most of us would be relapsed. BE WELL
