Yesterday was such a blessing. In the morning, I put my husband and step son through yoga. The wobbly, unbalanced giddy laughter over the poses was heart warming. Showing the little guy how to go into triangle pose was enough to make anyone laugh and fall over. Then we swam. A lot of jumping in and out....Cannon balls that were painful and I think bruising Everyone was involved in the 10 year old bliss. We pretended at one point to be Olympic Swimmers, which looked ridiculous. Then I was off to revise a paper. I spent most of the day concentrating on commas and where commas belonged.
I noticed that there were no thoughts of drinking. No thoughts of the last binge that took my job and sanity. I would rather live my life than have alcohol live it for me.

My husband and I framed many of the little man's pictures. In every room there is one masterpiece after another. I'm very fond of the one with ducks swimming in a rainbow pond.

Brilliant Mizz! I don't have any kids but I'm also reconnecting with my inner child tonight - naughtily staying up late and drinking Kool Aid to celebrate the royal birth.
