Progress

Today is my 19th day of not drinking and my 7th day of not smoking I feel great! There has been an odd day when I've thought about smoking but literally a passing thought. I have had a bottle of wine in my house for over a week, a gift for someone, and I have had no urge to drink at all. I really have changed!

No butterfly i'm not using a programme, i just stopped. And so far its been easy. I feel great, i sleep well, im more productive in work and i generally feel so much more optimistic about life
MIR, with all due respect if i dump the wine its like saying i don't trust myself, and i do. The wine has been there over a week because i haven't seen the person its for, i wont see her for at least another week and the wine will still be there.

Congratulations, apophylite!!!

I'm fairly new at this, too, and it DOES feel great!!! I have beer in my fridge, with no desire to drink it, and will dump it in a ceremonious way when I reach 1 month. Thanks for sharing your experience and accomplishment with us, and please continue! When I reach my 365th day of being sober, I count on YOU to be at day number 370 of being sober, AND SO ON!!!

I'm four years sober and I know for an absolute certainty that I do not trust myself. Alcohol is an enemy I do not wish to do battle with because I have lost every single time that I've challenged it. Sobriety is all about choices some move towards sobriety some move you away but they are your choices to make one way or the other

well done for giving up drinking and smoking, you must be feeling tickled pink and have more money in your pocket, not to mention fresh breathe and no hangover yippee ..
