Me
I had some abnormal blood tests last week.
Nothing related to drinking.
I have been sober over 500 days.
I'm 39 years old.
The news shocked me slightly.
I am going to have this for the rest of my life.
Its also going to cause huge upheaval in my life.
If I don't do what the disease requires, then I am at risk of further more serious complications.
All through these last few days, I have not drunk.
Not even thought about drinking.
Never crossed my mind.
Thats all down to you guys.
My SR family.
I think, no I know, you are all the best people to have in my life.
xx

Not sure what the tests showed but I'm sorry that you are having to deal with this. When we drink, we don't think about our health, but that's one of the reasons I stopped. I didn't want to have this anchor around my neck that could wreck havoc on my body.

Not to minimize your situation my thought went to alcoholism. Lifelong and a huge factor in your life. Hopefully the recovery is as successful as alcoholism is. BE WELL

I'm sorry about your news,I hope it's at least manageable . The thing is you got through it and didn't drink, that's in and of it selfs awesome!!! Congrats on your 500 days ,I have seven today and I'm feeling alright,we r all here for you if you need us
When my beloved golden retriever my (profile picture) was diagnosed with terminal cancer I freaked out. I called my sponsor because I was a complete basket case.
he asked me if she seemed to be any pain and I said no
he asked if she was eating okay and I said yes.
he asked if she still greets you with the same enthusiasm when you get home and I said yes
he then said I guess you don't have a problem today do you?
the point he was making is that all we have is today and we need to make the most of it. the future will bring what the future brings but the future is not today. if I had allowed myself to live in the future I never would have enjoyed the time left I had with my beloved dog
