Got clean at 19 for 8 months, went back out till 29 got clean for almost 3 years, went back out for 3 , got clean for almost 3 years again, went back in and out of active using till age 51. I'm done, nothing left in a bottle of booze or pills. Hit every single yet that I didn't think had happened yet.

Pride kept me from admitting I was done. Thinking I was to strong to be this weak. Don't believe it. Stop when you can. What was the question?

Quit when I was 33 and am now 34 and although it hasn't been a year YET that feels good to say I have never had a drink since I've turned another year older lol

I was in my early 30's when my addiction to alcohol became unmanageable. I found recovery at 37.

28 and 3 weeks sober today. This has been my first serious attempt at quitting and I have a strong feeling it's going to stick whether I like it or not. I must say it is quite an interesting experience. It's like I am growing into my own skin again. Fortunately I'm pretty active with the gym, sports and martial arts or I wouldn't know what the heck to do with my free time. The nights are pretty difficult though and I've been having trouble adjusting to social gatherings where a lot of people are drinking.
