The last of our tribe arrives tonight and then we spend last day seeing Seattle before off to Alaska Saturday. This trip has been somewhat hard at times with the personalities but I stayed sober. Enjoy VT Weasel!

Sometimes that is all it takes, Non! How old is your daughter? You can do this. You don't want to disappoint her OR yourself

Ladybug : You got 20 days , that's great ! I'm Pennsylvanian too. East or West ? The heat was unreal here in the Burg , today. Tomorrow's supposed to be a wee bit cooler, thank God. Finding things to do tomorrow is key , you can do this , Yes.

I got 1 week as of Midnight , I'm not celebrating , Oh yes I am. I got a gallon of Tea , a big Ole bag of chips & some dip....... Let the party begin

Hi trikyriky, I am on the Eastern side of PA, but lived in Pittsburgh for a couple of years after graduating from PITT. LOVE the Burg and miss it!!

Yes, the key is to stay busy and eat and drink lots of something besides alcohol. Boredom and being alone (like a kid in the candy store) were/are my biggest triggers. We can make it through another weekend!

Ring ding bingely bong *ringing out the freedom bell*

Friday morning in the UK . I hope everyone managed not to be poopieheads , i'm afraid i might be one but i managed to not drink

It's friday, the weather is going to be Mr blue skies all weekend , damp towels straight from the fridge are available , popsicles / ice lollys , a big jug of water is in there cooling as well .

For those that believe the equation:- hot weather = get drunk (like this alkie brain used to ) ..remember millions of africans and people in the middle east where it is actually quite hot, never drink alcohol at all, whatever the weather . I reject the flawed logic of my alkie brain ..

*shouts* "Freedom , freedom , get you freedom here at SR" *rings freedom bell*

Bestwishes, m

Poopiehead poopihead poopihead! Say that three times fast. If you are a poopihead then you can't. If you are not you can!

On my way to Vermont. No traffic! So far....

Oh my, we may have stumbled upon our weekend theme.

I didn't sleep well last night. only about 4 hours. Enough to survive, but I'll have grogginess and a mild headache all day. Rat farts.

Enjoy Vermont! The Mrs and I have fond memories of a B&B called Horsefeathers up there. We had a nice stay there back when we were just sparking.

Be well, all!

Happy Friday everyone!

Going to need some strength today. Day 20 and have the house to myself all day (very rare). AV already tried to get some Bloody Mary's (but have no vodka in house, thank God). See, this is why alcoholics can NOT have alcohol in the house (at least in early days of recovery). There are some cold beers (hmm) in fridge for hubby's occasional weekend drink, but beer doesn't usually tempt me. Why does it all of a sudden sound good? I was never a beer drinker. Maybe because of this heat? Oh well, staying strong and will keep busy. Don't want to blow 20 days, right?!

Hope everyone is doing well and having a great, sober Friday.

Yesterday was a very trying day on my sobriety but no poopiehead here. Family communication is a huge issue....it doesn't happen and when it does it doesn't click. My b/f arrived yesterday. We are heading out on our own today and I think it will be good for me to get a break from my parents and my brother and his family. Hoping to see my other Seattle son later in the day so that will be fun. Stay strong people!

A tall boy of java.

Cruise control set at 75 mph. (120kph for those curious)

iPod plugged into the roadster. Everything from Gary Puckett to Rhianna.

The arrival time of 1:11 hangs steady on the GPS.

God I love road trips!

Ladybug, it's really hot in uk too. I've got bottles of evian and perrier in the fridge and I drink them from the same glass I used to drink wine from. It's refreshing, it tastes nice and I don't feel guilty about it. Yes it reminds me that it's not true that I really enjoyed drinking because I always felt guilt .

If I can make it to tomorrow I'll be at one week! This is an important weekend for me.
Americans please tell me what a poopie head is?

First day in Vermont was wonderful. Had a ten course tasting menu at a French restaurant. The cheese and fruit platter was amazing. A Vermont cheddar... A must. And a creamy smooth nutty soft cheese.

Spent time in the pool.... Very nice and refreshing.

Have not desire to drink. I love days when av is dormant. I feel so relaxed.

Stay sober folks! Fridays are tough for a lot of folks.

LOL! I just realized I started this thread on Thursday. Since I had today off it was my Friday. Never even realized. Oh well.

I was wondering why no one had started it yet!

*Giggle* I think in a way your subconcious was wanting to bring all your sober friends with you on the journey , i'm enjoying it all so far vicariuosly .
Wherever you go you know that you have a big group of mostly sober drunks right next to you willing you on to do the right thing .

Feels a bit cooler here today , need to do some tidying , bedding change , washing , i've been letting things go and just flaking out in the hot weather , time to catch up before it starts getting to me .

good saturday everyone , m

Thursday is the new Friday, anyway.

Starting my weekend doing some overdue paperwork. *yawn* However, it's good to be doing "grown-up" things. I'm on day 13 and feel like I'm finally learning how to live like a sane person.
