A place to live ...

Is a lot harder to find on a very tight income; when you don't "like people"... A lot of "shares" though .. Not to mention if I was still drinking or a addicted to something it would be easier to get help *sigh* But through all this I am sober 1 more day @ least.:-)

You can do it August. Sometimes, at least around here, you can get a break if you are able to do some repairs or extra work around the place. It's good you're sober.

Am here rooting for your too August. Hoping you'll find something perfect for your situation. You have a great attitude, ...and you are sober! Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Thinking good thoughts and good vibes for you.

Thanx Guys; strange .. Just got out of the shower the my roommate\EX GF is making dinner .. Something she has not done in the past month :p Not to mention she is rather quiet w\ me though But even that ping of pain hasn't escalated the cravings much .. Not to mention after all this whining about me going back to my home town & "dying" there; I actually got a plan together as a "what if" situation and I sure as hell didn't die in that thought process; or drink for that matter lol

Finding a place to live is definitely a "stresser". I hope everything works out.

It's too cold around here for a grass shack nailed to a pinewood floor ... though there are times that I crave such a place. Sorry, I hope that wasn't in bad taste.

Hang in there man.

Hi August!

I was in the same spot as you a while back. And, where I live, you need to make three times your rent, have a permanent job contract and usually have someone to guarantee it as a back up (co-sign)....

I had NONE of those.

So, I decided that was the moment to ask favors of all the very few people I knew where I live. And so a quite superficial friend hooked me up via Faceboook to a landlord she knew. Suddenly, because of that recommendation, I was exempt to all of the usual requirements.

Moral of the story: no matter how useless it feels, message everyone you know and just say you are looking for a place - if you know anything, please hook me up.

Sending you good luck vibes!

Good luck and hang in there. Don't try in this area as it seems to be sinking with so many people trying to escape the heat and rentals are sky high. 2K a week for a couple bedrooms a mile from the beach which is jammed if the sun is out. One good thing is there are several hundred AA meetings a week. BE WELL

I'm not sure if you attend AA but i know a lot of people there have good advice on how to handle that kind of situation because many of them have lived it. I know you'll find a solution, August. Just remember that there isn't a problem out there that alcohol will solve. Check out craigslist. You might not like having to live with someone but you've gotta do what you've gotta do. The opportunity to live on your own again will happen but it may not happen on your time. Live on life's terms and focus on what you can do, not what you wish you could do.

Yea and the closest I could afford so far would be a 2.5 hour commute to work and 2.5 back home So that would be rough after working all night .. Sooner or later I would collapse I am sure :p

Nope Hence I work nights; so I don't have to "deal" w\ them or be around them or near them or talk to them lol That's why I like this forum; it's not face to face.

The Boston area is brutal. I live half way across the state because I couldn't afford it otherwise. However that means that I travel the Mass Pike (aka The Meat Grinder) most days.
