6 days now
I found your forum while googling about how to quit drinking last year. I've been sober for six days now as of 7/15/13 I wish I could just drink a couple of beers after work but I can't drink that small amount. I don't know how I go to work everyday with a hangover, feeling is like the flu that gets better at then end of the day.
I'm done with alcohal and bored of hangovers everyday. I hope I have enough will power to stay sober for the rest of my days.
Sorry for my rant and hello to everyone.

Wow. That sure rings true. Feeling like you have the flu that gets better at the end of the day .... just in time to contract it again. I too cannot drink normally. I've tried and tried and tried to control it but if I have one drink I'll have at *least* 6-8. Since I stopped life seems to have so much more promise. Seriously. Am I out of the woods? Nope. I'm think I'm going to live in this forest for a long time. It's OK though. I like the shade

I talk with my general doctor yesterday, and he recommended me to a Therapist that can help me and introduce to me to groups.
It was hard being honest with the doctor telling him how much I drink per day. on a workday I will drink a six pack of wild berry or a IPA beer and mix in shots of vodka or whiskey (whichever is cheaper), and on a day off I drink as much alcoholas time will allow me to drink.
I made it through day 7 I hope I don't sweat to much again in my sleep.
I was at shopping center buying dinner for myself and walked right passed the beer aisle and never looked or bought anything.
I see you guys have a class of 2013, when I make a month of sobriety I will post on it.
I read everyone post and thank you so much for the warm welcome.
