Last night was my first sober wedding. I was anxious but prayed A LOT, talked to my network and ending up having such a GREAT time! It was so wonderful to catch up with old friends I haven't seen and truly be present for my friend's special day I even danced!!! I left the wedding still looking good rather than being a hot mess (lol) and woke up this morning with no regrets, just great memories and peace of mind. I didn't have the obsession to drink at all while there. I prayed on and off at times, mostly saying "thank you for allowing me to be sober to enjoy these moments" Loving recovery today. Hope everyone is having a good sober weekend!

wow that's great
once just short of three years sober I drank at a wedding
I was feeling very uneasy and knew next to no one there
I should have walked out for a breath of fresh air
instead I grabbed two Heineken dark beers
the rest was history
