I'm new here............
Hi -
Finally! After 37 years of drug abuse I've managed to find my way to treatment and am finally clean and sober for the first time ever!
55 days, One Day at a Time.
Anyway, I'm in West Palm Beach, Florida and wanted to say hello......
All I've ever known are druggies and dealers and now it would be nice to find some real friends

yep sorry to disappoint but there are few druggies, alkies and dealers here, but we are nice folks haha

i am an alcoholic from australia, not the only one in aus, but one of the few on the site

Hello Pro, Welcome to our little cyber family. I am Janet a 44 year old drug addict who has been using and abusing for 30 years. You will find alot of support & healing here at SR, I sure did. I have been clean for almost 9 months and I did it one day at a time. I love my new life and you are going to love yours. Keep posting we are all here for you. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

Wow, so many responses, so quickly!
Just to clarify, and you probably understood, but those druggies and dealers I was speaking of are not part of this wonderful program. Towards the end of my using, in fact, the only person I could talk to was my crack dealer.
Now, I'm in the process of building that support group made up of <b>former</b> druggies and dealers....how's that? I hope y'all weren't offended.............
Anyway, I'm glad I found this place.

PR, you sound like you are getting your feet on stable sober ground. today is day 1 hang over free and day 2 without putting alcohol in to my precious body. i am very confused now but i have promised myself, my wife and all of you that i will not drink today. thanks toall of you for you wise help.

welcome. I'm new to this site, too. After 19 years of drinking and drugging with people who weren't my friends, I've joined SR and found a bunch of recovering addicts who help other addicts every day, for we can only keep what we have by giving it away!
