only five days sober
Hi everyone! I'm five days sober from alcohol today. I have been drinking heavy since the age of eighteen . I'm thirty one now and I'm very tired. I tried to stop before and couldn't but last night was the first time in a loong time that I turned down a drink that was offered so I'm on a roll and feeling great. I Hope every one else is and thanks for listening.

I really relate to being "very tired". Man, alcohol is tiring, isn't it?
Glad you're here - there's a lot of good information on this site that can keep you reading for hours. Not to mention the great support of SR folks...

5 days is fabulous - I remember how hard it was to get through those first ones. It'll all get easier. Great that you've decided to go for a new life - "I'm very tired" sums it up well.

Congrats on day 5! That's great. I know what you mean about being tired. When I was drinking, I was exhausted! Insomnia was a regular occurrence, and I just always felt "beat up". Feel so much better now that I am 73 days clean:-)
