Day Two: Is this Withdrawal?!?

Hi folks,

I have never felt like this when I stopped drinking before. I have felt withdrawal from coffee and from cigarettes (horrible) and this isn't too far off. I feel out of it mentally, little waves of nausea, tired, extra emotional, just generally not right...

I've always said, "I'm not physically addicted, cuz I have no withdrawal symptoms when I stop." But maybe I've crossed the line.

If you have any doubts or start to feel worse, go to an emergency room, urgent care clinic, or doctor. You don't want to be without medical assistance if physical withdrawals from etoh kick in.

etoh = alcohol

Just saying you don't want to mess with withdrawals from alcohol, it's one of the only recreational drugs where withdrawal can kill you. Even heroin withdrawals aren't nearly as dangerous.

Sounds like a normal day 2 withdrawal. You will find it easier soon!

If I begin to feel better, am I out of the woods? Or could I suddenly get sick in a few more days? (I ask because I am traveling next week.)

That is a question I'm not sure about. Risk of seizures is pretty much gone after the fifth day of abstaining from alcohol.
