Hi all.
M husband is afraid that me being sober is going to restrict our sexual activity. I seem to be more responsive (lively?) after alcohol. Not so much sober.

Can anyone relate?

You will find others who feel this way also....

But actually, how can you be more responsive when you are in essence less conscious or even in blackout? After time, we find that sober love is better than drunken lust.

By the way, has your husband quit drinking also?

It gets better. For me, there was about a month where I was in a day program, IOP, and uncovering lots of emotions... so I cooled off to him for that month. But I think it was important too... for healing. And sex would have complicated things.

After that month, sex was way better than sex under the influence, infinitely better. Well worth it. He saw more of a difference than I did, because I simply don't remember as much from the alcohol saturated sex... lol.

Not sure, maybe he thinks I was a sex maniac? (LOL). I am normally reserved, self-conscious.

He is still drinking. Out of my view, but still is.

That is a good point - I am only 3 weeks sober now. Maybe once I feel like I have gained some more control it will be better. We have been in a cool off since the beginning of June (getting sober, but also me getting a Tubal). Who knows - maybe I have been paranoid of having more babies - I might just turn into a raging sex machine now that I can't!

I'm just over a 100 days sober, and I feared sex without alcohol. I think that the closer my wife and I have become during my sober time has made it better.
