I drink to many beers a night but I go to work in the morning and make dinner a lot of the time. So I was just wondering what the general complaint is about people that drink a lot ? Is it just that you are jealous and feel left out or is it more? Not trying to be rude am actually curious.

What is the complaint if people are living normal lives but drinking alot at night? I do it and wonder why I should not I want a reason.

Well, if you think that your drinking causes problems than quitting might be a good choice. Only you can say if you have problems though, what do you think?

Seriously want a reason I need help quitting but not sure why I want to. Drinking helps me relax and be social helps me not to stress out and feel constantly frustrated. I would be angry and upset without alcohol. Without drinking I'm withdrawn and silent with it I engage and enjoy. What should I do

Health reasons scare me but I think I would rather die happy

What are the problems drinking causes I want to see if they have effected me?

I'm not defending drinking I really think sober is the way to be but everyone must find happiness and I have not found it straight

There are a lot of good reasons t quit, but you have to find your reason from within yourself. If you don't want to quit, no one else can or will stop you.

Are you more concerned with other peoples' complaints? Or are you worried about your own drinking?

My first question was to wife's of alcoholics why do they want their husbands to quit?

What are some of the things that happen in your life that make you think you shoud quit?

Alcoholism is a progressive illness. Everyone starts out having a great time. Most still work and make dinner regularly. Many excel at their jobs and have nice families. At the beginning.

You could be perfectly fine now working, meeting all of your responsibilities, and having a great time. Time goes on and next thing you know...it's not as much fun anymore and it's really hard to stop. Just the fact that you're even on SR and took the time to locate the site indicates you might have some of your own concerns.

Here are some of the negatives...
Headaches and hangovers, exhaustion, depression, severe health problems, missed work and wages, loss of lovers and friends you've let down due to drinking, missed opportunities because you were partying and having fun and didn't realize what was in front of you...dui arrests, or worse..I hope you don't have to find out any of the above the hard way....

Know I need to stop to avoid those things just need help. Don't know how I know it sounds dumb but not sure how to be happy or function without

I can't speak for the wives. I am the alcoholic in my marriage. He wanted me to quit because I was nearly impossible to live with. It was a nightmare for him. I was a horrible, raging, angry, loud, obnoxious, moody, miserable, and sometimes destructive person when I drank. It zoned me out of life. He is thanking his lucky stars I quit. He tells me all the time how proud he is of me.

You have to quit for YOU though.
