I am 42, married with a beautiful 6 1/2 year old daughter, and have been drinking heavily for over 5 years. I was not a binge drinker ( I haven't been drunk since beforehand daughter was born), but I did drink every day, and had even been having a drink in the morning before work for the past 1 1/2 years! Throw in a lunch break cocktail in my car, and I developed myself quite the problem.

Finally realized I was not living a life I wanted, and had come to hate myself and my failings as a mom. So, here I am at 2 1/2 months sober, and although there are tough days (today was a doozy), I keep thinking how much happier I have been, and how much happier my family has been since putting the bottle down...that's what I try to focus on.

Anyway, welcome again.
