Newbie

Hi all, I'm new to this site and to recovery as a whole. Been clean for 34 days now and have just finished going through the 12 steps with my sponser 😃. I feel that since starting recovery it has filled the gap that had me going back and using, I finally feel content with life and I feel great!
I was always scared of the thought of going through life sober, but right now I feel this is the most exciting thing to ever happen to me.

I have used drugs for 24 years of my life and could see no other way to get through, but if someone like me can recover then anyone can.

Have a lovely day people
Peace and love xxx

Hang in there. I recall when I , at the beginning read I the BB in a couple weeks and announced it at a meeting where someone said " good now make it a life time study book" That was excellent advise and about 4-6 worn out books since I started I feel he was correct. I say this because many of us have short term memory and easily revert to past habits by forgetting that alcohol is just the tip of the problem. BE WELL

Welcome to SR and congrats on 34 days!

Well done also on completing the steps. Remember you can always do them again at whichever points you want to in your new sober life. My current sponsor is in her 70s, has over 20 years sober, has had 11 sponsors and is currently working the steps for the umpteenth time, with her current sponsor.
