Day 27 Check In ..
Day 27 Check In ..
Still Sober; still down :p Seems to be the story of my life the last few months ... But Yea I am still sober .. Cravings aren't bad as the "I just wanna drown my sorrows" feeling sorry for myself :p
AW.... Staying sober is a big deal. I would not discount your accomplishment.
I felt a lot of remorse... Sadness during my many attempts. I think it is natural. I was sad because I had to change things I did not want to. I felt like I would never have fun again.
But I quickly learned that being sober can be more fun once I got out of my own way.
Anyway... Great job on staying sober. Things will come around.

Congratulations on staying sober!
There is more to staying sober than just stopping drinking. Most of us find that we need to make changes in ourselves in order to find peace and maintain long term sobriety. Otherwise, you might just be "white knuckling" it which is hard to do, long term.
I'm not hard core AA, but working the steps and finding fellowship with other guys in the program has been key for me.
