Question leaving treatment

I'm leaving recovery treatment this week after being here for 90 days. I'm going back to Douglasville,Atlanta and I'm excited and nervous for this new life. If anyone knows a good meeting in Atlanta for a 40 year old female let me know. Also if you have any for meadvice as a newcomer ,I would be greatly appreciate it

Welcome to SR red! I think you'll find the support you're looking for here. We have many helpful & understanding people who really understand.

Congratulations on completing your treatment - and on your brand new start.

All I can advise is to avoid meetings and direct yourself to a more positive activity. Maybe you can find a meetup group that is focused around some central theme in the Atlanta area. I felt a lot of pressure to go to meetings when I left treatment. It was a very negative influence on me. There are much better things that you can devote your time to. Now that your new life has begun, you can live and have fun.

Adding my congratulations too! I'm one who continues her recovery in AA. Whatever you do, I do think it's really VERY important to stay connected with others who add to your sobriety. I really don't understand Amberbris 'advice' to you.?? Your journey continues, keep coming back to SR. :-D. Bobbi

don't entertain the thought of drinking or using
I didn't know about this simple thing years ago
I would let myself think over and over about drinking or using
would usually end up with a beer in my hand

it's not impossible to keep good healthy thoughts

bothers me to be around drunks or active ones using today
I think it to be best to stay away from them
especially in early sobriety
