Angry Hurt,

To whom this may concern,

Last night I broke my 11th day of sobriety. I ingested an opiate and was also drinking beer with it. I don't remember all of last night. I then woke up at 2am feeling my legs almost numb. My lower back is in some pain. My legs are still numb. I feel that this is my rock bottom and I need to strive for greatness in myself. I go to an addiction clinic on the 9th to help with my journey on the road to recovery.
Sincerely, ow

As a fellow "relapser" I know how you are feeling.
But good on you for coming here and telling someone , helped me feel better.

Use it as ,privation, remember that ****** feeling, and commit to not wanting to feel that way again.
That's how I am facing it!

Take care and good luck

Welcome Boarder. I think you'll feel better posting & reading about other people's experiences.

I had many false starts over the years - but SR helped me find the courage to change my life. I'm glad you're going to the clinic. Please let us know how you're doing.

Hi. This is a big thing in our lives wit a bit of negative progress if we forget that we don't have to get sober again if we don't pick up the FIRST drink/drug. It's a simple idea though not always easy in the beginning until we surrender, which many don't want to do. When my pain got bad enough that I surrendered to the care of people at AA meetings life got much better. Millions have got a good life as a result of getting honest with themselves and admitting surrender is winning in the long run. BE WELL

It can be really hard to get clean, and even harder to stay clean...but you'll find a ton of support here

welcome to SR BoarderJoe

Some of us had to fall down many times before realizing and accepting that we couldn't drink or drug, even a little bit. It sounds like you know what you need to do. Welcome to the group.

Be proud you got so far. Take it as a learning curve that next time you have the craving next time come on here. Find this post and remember the feelings you are having right now. Tomorrow is a new day and fresh start. Good luck
