Blah day...

Day 8, and I'm feeling somewhat blah. I was up way too late reading Under the Influence--I liked it in that it explained a lot about me and my previous relapses. One thing it recommends is to improve nutrition which I think has been personaly missing (and perhaps explains the blah mood). I really can't believe some people think people with alcohol problems are "weak". It's taken me so much strength to get to where I am, and I know I will need even more.

Nutrition and exercise were super helpful for me. Never as solutions to my alcoholic problems but they did give me more physical and mental energy to spend on recovery and activity not involving alcohol. The link between diet and mood is pretty much science fact these days.

Anyone who thinks recovering alcoholics are weak need to drink a pint of reality, for sure.

I wonder if sugar and caffeine lead to more alcohol cravings for me.

I hope better nutrition help for you. Glad the book helped. I have heard a lot about it.

It does take a lot of strength to realize and deal with addiction.
