Just returned from the Grocery Store
Today has not been a good day...though I am almost 14 months sober, I still have not found steady employment and woke up this am in a lot of financial fear and frustration. In addition I am coming up on a BIG birthday and wondering where my youth went...
Just got back from picking up a few things at the store. When I was in the check out line, I noticed an older gentleman had one of the large bottles of wine (chardonnay to be specific) in his check out order. That is exactly what I used to drink and for a moment the wine looked good and I was envious of him. Still...I came out of the store with a Dr Pepper and a bottle of water! The point is I could have made things even worse for myself by picking up a bottle of the wine I used to drink and enjoy (until it turned on me)...but I didn't! And I don't think I will again anytime soon.
This is hard, but we can ALL do it!

Awesome, susaboer1, way to give your AV a round-kick to the face! I'm very sorry to hear about your financial worries. Sending positive vibes your way for steady employment. Have you time to volunteer? That can be healing. Birthdays? Meh, just another day, IMHO.
