Be Proud of Yourself

I found this mantra printed on the tag of a teabag. What do they mean by that?

Really? Why would they write something like that for anyone to have?

I'm certainly not feeling proud of myself right now, but I know to jump up and feel great about myself right now wouldn't feel right either.

It seems like when you can find the correct balance and understanding with that phrase, it may not be possible to put in to words, it works. It is also not easy to sustain that balance.
Though that phrase will always hold it's balance.

Anyway, I recognize that i'm still a mess, recovering from last relapse, but that's where i'm at and just wanted to check in.

Be proud of yourselves peeps.

I read it more as an injunction, i.e. do the right thing.

it does flow easier when you maintain that balance.

You know the saying "Pride cometh before a fall". True for me, humility is what I seek not pride.

I agree with that. I'm not interested in getting on the 'high-horse'.

It actually says, "Be proud of who you are", sorry I misquoted that, but I have it on my desk now.

It's a meditation for me, not simply a literal statement.

I regret bringing it up here for personal reasons.

I do like that it was randomly on a tea bag for anyone to have.

Take what works or whatever the saying is..

I too would likely take it from a behavioural standpoint...be the sort of person you can be proud of being which to me would not include being "prideful" as my defining feature. But I'm working on being someone whose actions and values I can be proud of. I have fallen pretty short up until now.

I agree with this viewpoint. I also took the saying as along the thought of, "Trust in yourself."
