Day 1
Well today is the day. DAY ONE! The start of my new sober life.
Ive made all the excuses in the world why i should put off a sober way of life. You know, oh i will do 'Dry July' so i can enjoy a drink in the mean time, I have a birthday coming up I need to celebrate, the suns out lets crack open a cold one, Im alive!
The only person Im kidding when I say these things is myself.
Yesterday i 'managed' to double book myself so i couldnt make my first AA meeting. Second week running. Im only letting myself down. I did however drink a lot less last night and feel so much better for it this morning. A feeling I could really get used too.
This morning I went to see a councilor for a 1-on-1 session. I have to go back in two weeks and Im really hoping that i can do myself proud.
Its time to turn that frown upside down I am worthy of a healthier happier life and whilst i know that not all my problems are due to booze, if i can kick this habbit, it will free me up mentally to work through the rest.
In an hours time I would normally walk to my local pub for a sneaky pint and lunch. Ive only started doing this over the last 2 weeks so this routine should be easier to change. Tonight is going to be the BIG test for me.
Really hoping I can do this!!
