It's the Little Things....
It's 49 days sober for me, and I am noticing/recalling some little things:
First, it's little things that make me miss drinking. Like tonight a friend posted a picture on FB of the candlelit dinner she set for her husband. With two lovely looking glasses if wine sitting there looking ever so elegant. For a moment I had a pang of sadness that I would never again enjoy a glass of wine as part of a romantic dinner.
Then about half hour later I was taking an extra long shower, when something popped into my head. When I was drinking and often times sneaking it around the house, I remembered I would often take a lightening fast shower, then slip out of the shower but leave the water running so hubby downstairs would think I was still in the shower when I was really sitting there having some extra private drinking time.
After remembering that, I no longer had that pang of regret about not being able to have wine with dinner.

Sometimes it is the little things that will bring the memory back up. I think when that happens its very easy of us to just look back and see the good times but we need to refocus on the bad things that made us want to quit in the first place.
Congrats on 49 days!
