Greetings from a Sober Soldier

Hi all,
I just finished my PTSD treatment and then treatment for my alcohol dependance at a Veterans Hospital. I'm extremely excited to live my life sober. When I came back from Iraq (for the time 3rd time!) I was emotionally fried. I turned to alcohol as my "PTSD Medicine". Things quickly spiraled out control for me but this time I'm actually facing my problems instead of trying to drink them away.
Thanks,
Chuck

Welcome Chuck! We're so glad to have you join us. I think SR will be very helpful for you as you begin your sober journey. You have a wonderful attitude, and that'll help.

Thank you for serving and the sacrifices you've made. I'm glad you received treatment for both issues - some never reach out for help. Here's to a great new life.

Well done sir!!! Thank you for all you do for America, and what you are now doing for yourself. You have the chance now to live a really great life, as long as you steer clear of the booze. Sobriety is a real game changer, for the better.
