Just poured out $250 worth of booze.

Day 3.

I couldn't look at it anymore. All the other times I've tried to quit I just left it in the liquor cabinet (for guests).

But this time I mean it.

Everything needs to change.

Don't see it as 250$ of booze.
See it as 250$ of misery.

My best to you

Wow. What an excellent decision.

I poured out one beer this morning and it was painful.

Awesome start and verrrry smart Pat. Stick with it. If I had poured out my booze I would probably be on day 59 instead of 6 right now. Keep it rockin' and a pat on the back to you.

Sounds like your getting serious!!! Its an awesome start, and you are correct, everything has to change for your change to be a success.

Congrats on Day 3! VERY wise decision to pour it out. That's exactly the mindset it takes to conquer that beast. Way to go!!! Cheering for you!

Good decision!

My last drink was out of a Large bottle of rum. I kept it under the sink as always, and I guess in the back of my mind I was saving it to give to my son's friend, like I did last time I quit. Then one day I thought suddenly, "what the hell am I doing? That kid needs booze like he needs a hole in his head!"

I felt so silly, saving poison to give to someone else, just because I'd paid "good money" for it! So I poured it down the drain, it smelled funny, and I really can't believe I loved that stuff........

I know it hurt the wallet, but like someone else said, you poured out $250 worth of misery!

It was money wasted the minute you bought it, well done! Temptation removed, alcohol no longer an option! Roll on day 4!

Haha.. that is great Pat. I know how hard it can be.. not $250 worth.. I never had the foresight to stock up like that. Stay with it not too long and you'll have saved money on the balance

Fantastic decision. You can be just as welcoming to guests without giving them alcohol.
