What's the biggest myth about drinking alcohol?
That it helps your pain, all it does it make you avoid it and it makes it so much worse.
Or that the bad decisons/bad things that are happening to you aren't because of alcohol but becuase of something else when alcohol is the percise reason why everything is so f'd up and also the reason you drink. Catch 22 you drink because life sucks and your life sucks befcause you drink and it ain't getting better until you stop.
And that "its normal" to get black out drunk or drink alone or not get drunk off of a bottle of wine

The way I view alcohol now is different then I used to view it. I don't hate it. I don't hate others that can drink it. There are people that can have one or two after work or in a social gathering and enjoy it.
I am just NOT one of these people.

Well, I am not sure I get it, but alcohol definitely messes up with neurons' functions and their ability to transfer proper signals. So, maybe it doesn't chase brains cells with a gun shooting them dead but it kills their ability to do a proper job anyway.
Alcohol is a "must" for every holiday, party or festive event - myth, though deeply rooted in society.

That you are boring if you don't drink.
I can't count how many times I have heard this throughout my life (and possibly said it too). But if you are at a social event and you can't see what people are drinking I bet no one could tell the difference between people who are drinking or not. I had a high tolerance so showed few signs of drunkenness when I was out so when I was sober I didn't see what the difference was. This doesn't apply though when people actually get drunk because there is nothing more boring than someone repeating the same comment over and over again. So it's the complete opposite. Drunk people are boring.

Cold Showers, fresh air or hot coffee help sober a person. only makes a wide awake drunk.
Eating a big meal before drinking keeps a person from getting drunk.
alcoholics can moderate.
