I lost my best friend today
So sorry Grungehead and all that have lost pets recently. It is so hard to say good bye to our loving friends, especially ones that have lived with us for so long. Abby looked like a beautiful dog-I'm glad you and she had each other for as long as you did.

Pets are more comforting than people a lot of the time. They witness all the bs, and still love you unconditionally anyway. Im sorry to hear of Abby's passing. The love you two shared will always be there, even if she's physically not. And remember, all dogs go to heaven. She's in a happy, pain free place.
I'm so sorry for you loss Grungehead. It sounds like you had a beautiful bond with Abby. I can understand as my kitty means the world to me. I'm sure your Abby cherished your comfort during those last moments. She's in a happy place, running freely with the wind blowing her fur. I'm wishing peace and comfort for you. Hugs.

What a beautful memoriam to Abby!
All the kind and thoughtful thoughts and feelings expressed here have brought tears to my eyes... one, for the loss of Abby, and two, for the beautiful support and understanding that has been expressed here on SR.
God bless you and Abby. May you be comforted knowing you gave her a beautiful life. I do believe she waits for you & you'll see her again. Glad you posted about it - hope it helps take some of the pain away.
So sorry for your loss. Only another dog lover can understand what it is like to lose their best friend. My profile picture is my beloved Cuervo who I lost to cancer 3 years ago. It was my first major loss in sobriety. I made it through the grief a day at a time and honored her memory by staying sober. There is nothing a drink will make better. Rejoyce in the time you had, grieve that she is gone, and pray to God for peace
I just wanted to thank everyone once again for the kind words of support you have given me. Every post was special to me and made me feel better. It is a true blessing to be able to face this difficult time sober. Even in my girl's passing she has helped me grow a little more in sobriety, and I am grateful for that and for the years we had together.
