so tempted

My husband and son went golfing for fathers day.
House is empty, got a headache...would give a small body part for a bloody Caesar.
So tempting to tell myself that I could just have one and it wouldn't hurt anyone...
Any advice or encouragement would be awesome right now...
Thanks for listening

My advice: DON'T DO IT!!!!

It is just your AV telling you to drink. Don't listen to the jerk.

ONE is what led to EVERY problem any of us ever had with alcohol. And honestly, just one isn't any good anyway, it will just make you want more.

Come up with a list of things to do today with them gone. It doesn't have to be hard or complicated.

For example: breakfast, laundry, yoga, a walk, a snack, some chores, lunch, read a book, spend time on SR. Then just focus on doing the next thing on your list.

I didn't know what to do with myself for the first bit... sometimes still don't, so it really helps to remember to figure out what I'm gonna do.

DG0409- I cannot thank you enough--tears right now.
You are right about everything---and making a list and to get busy is exactly what I need.
Thanks again- so much

I too have been brought to tears a time or two from a response here at the right time. We all need each other. SR is a lifesaver. I don't know that I would have made it this far without all of the wonderful people here.

And good job and coming and posting here when you felt weak! That is the best first thing to do if you're feeling like a drink or having thoughts like you were because there is always somebody here who understands and can help.

You are the best..
And it looks like mother nature is on my side--it started raining so I called my husband to see if i could meet them for lunch while they wait it out---and we're on!
Hope you have a great day!
Take care
