SUPPORT FOR ALL (no month required)

I am writing this because, while I am closest to February friends, my sobriety date is April 9. I never got connected in April or May or, now June...and we have lost so many over time (in February-including me). So here's what happened to me since February:

Got DUI #2
Court gave me 12 months probation + 1 night in jail.
On my own went to rehab for 2 weeks after an awful incident (details later)
contiuned with their Intensive Outpatient Program for 4+ weeks.
Go on Tuesdays to an alcoholism relapse prevention group
Will go on Wednesdays to another.
Go to AA every morning at 7:30 AM.
Just collected my 2-month chip.

Soooo. where do I belong? I think here. I feel like a phony in February, and don't want to start with a new "group" because I think a lot of us relapse and hate to go back where we "started", so I am going to post here.

All are welcome: drinking, sober for 150 years, 1 hour, 1 minute, 2 days then slipped...you get the drift.

Hi to anyone who wants to join this thread, Pamel :welcome

Oh. Okay. Another cool thread! I am not a part of my month. I think I was, then I was not. I drop into random months to give support. Welcome back! I am happy that you are giving this another try. Good to see that you are getting all the support and help that you can.

Pamel, you are FANTASTIC. So glad you are here. I am paying close attention to your thread Pamel, because I fear relapsing myself. Makes my realize more and more just how powerful addiction to chemical substances is. Goin on 3 years sober myself, and the thought of relapsing terrorizes me. Rootin for ya. :egypt:

Mrbeagle 06-11-2013 03:59 PM

Count me in Pamel :) we can do it!

Bubovski 06-11-2013 04:07 PM

Keep coming back!:abcd:

Olive1 06-11-2013 04:08 PM

Hi Pamel,

I would like you to trust me on this:

If I can do it, you can definitely do it!

(I will celebrate my 8th year sober on June 15th)

Cheers!

Midlifecrisis 06-11-2013 04:10 PM

Good thread. I have been in the December, January and May threads now ill need another one. Can I join?

Pamel 06-11-2013 04:24 PM

Yay Beagle and Midlifecrisis (of course you can join!) This thread is just to support each other in...whatever!

Thanks too to those who have time and wisdom :-)

The retread thread? :)
I guess I belong here since I've retread a few times.

Or perhaps the "Never lost hope" thread, since we all keep coming back until we get it right.

All of us seeking total victory over the addiction. We will fight for it. We will sacrifice for it. We will never surrender to it. Ever. We will prevail.

Anna 06-11-2013 04:37 PM

Pamel, please know that you can post anywhere in the Newcomer's forum that you like, and anywhere else on the boards too.

Indenial618 06-11-2013 04:40 PM

I'm in. Day 1 for me.

ChrissieB 06-11-2013 04:45 PM

Liking this new thread I am a restarter as well, determined not to be defeated, loving all the support.

Dee74 06-11-2013 04:48 PM

Like Anna said, everyone can post wherever they want.

I am sad to see some don't feel they belong in any of the many group threads we have tho.

Everyone in those threads really tries to make everyone welcome.
There's great support there too, and no judgement.

We all understand about relapse - if anyone feels a phony, don't :)

I got 16 days in January, relapsed, then had another 16 days in April, then relapsed. Today is 13 for me and I want to participate on SR more this time so I can move forward. I hope you are well!

Snaggle 06-12-2013 12:45 AM

I am a relapser/restarter too. Was in March then June. Count me in. Prefer to not have to worry about the month and when it will come to an end and if I am still failing at the end of it

ImperfectlyMe 06-12-2013 02:51 AM

Hey Pamel my five words buddy! We have the same sober date 4/9/13. I just joined the April thread this week. Come on in, maybe you can get more 5 words followers.

Keep your head up cause your doing it! Nothing is learned without mistakes!

Hi all - I haven't posted for a while and I shall be popping in to some of the other threads to reintroduce myself. I joined the forum back in March and was doing well. Then I had a birthday at the end of April and used that as an excuse to have a drink and I haven't stopped since. Here's to my new day two.

Nonsensical 06-12-2013 03:14 AM

Good morning fellow Sobrietists.

I slept very well, and that's a good thing because I have a long and arduous day ahead of me today. I hope everyone is doing well.

Pamel 06-12-2013 03:36 AM

Hey all, and especially Indenial618 Day 2 now? If not keep posting.

To Dee and Anna, thanks for the reminder that we can post on any thread; I just wanted one to go to as my "forever" thread, where I stay sober, but return if I don't. I LOVE the February people and took a stab at April, but I lose track of my "friends". Here anyone can join with anything. Just simplifying life.

This morning I woke up totally depressed-because I thought my BF had proposed to me; when I realized it was just a dream, what a relief. Says something about ... Whatever LOL...

Off to a meeting (after the 5-letter thread). It is such fun to see who shows up here!
