Newbie
I am working through my guilty feelings of drinking too much. I needed a safe place to chat with likeminded others. I am not prepared to 'come out' yet. I am not ready to face the criticism I expect to get.
It's good to feel concerned/guilty about it. That means you're taking a hard look at what it's doing to your life. Years ago, I felt that way after a binge - but I didn't pay attention to the warning signs.
I was still drinking when I joined SR. It took me awhile to get up the courage to stop all together. The more I read here, the more I realized I wanted to be free of it. Glad you are with us - say as little or as much as you want, BlueSkies.

Welcome to SR!
I lurked here for a couple of years, still using, got clean, went back out, etc. I kept getting drawn back here and when I thought "maybe I'll give it a try" I spent more time here.
I did a lot of reading, too. Found out we're not alone and there are usually several people going through similar situations.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

I don't want to see a counsellor... lol .. because I am one and I can't imagine the thought of being in that seat. It is my hope that with some support here, I will learn more about why I need to be here and why I am sabotaging my health and relationships.
BlueSkies - there is thread on the main page about policies, rules, and posting tips. So, you may want to review that. Otherwise....there's always someone here to listen. Whether you want to talk about good experiences or bad, laugh or cry. Everyone has their own "format" that works for them when it comes to being sober. I'm just returning after another year of falling flat on my face. Start reading.....you'll find a lot answers to your questions, and how you choose to use those answers in your own recovery is up to you.
