Day One (again!)
Just found this forum, and thought I'd join, see if it helps. I don't know my way around but I'll try to introduce myself.
I've been a habitual drinker for all of my adult life. I always had a drink after work to unwind, and then a few more glasses in the evening. Now I'm retired, but the habit remains.
I want to give up drinking, and I've managed a few times for a few days and once for a few months. I always feel healthier and my thinking is clearer when I leave the drink alone. My weakness is red wine. I don't get very drunk, but I do drink too much for my long term health. My wife only drinks because I do, and she's happy to stop. We'll go to the gym later today. I want to feel the health benefits of not drinking as soon as possible to encourage me. This evening will be the hardest time. Perhaps I'll log in here.
