I relapsed badly after 83 days of sobriety to the point that I needed medical help to detox all over again.

Today is day 66 of sobriety.

It is never, ever too late to make a new beginning. Learn what you can from the relapse, don't ever forget it, and put it in the past where it belongs.

Thanx for that; I know I need to "let it go" that is always my biggest problem

I've slipped so many times it's ridiculous. For whatever reason this time it's sticking. All we can do is get up, brush ourselves off, and try again.

When life looks like easy street there is danger at your door.

Words to live by. Don't ever give up. I returned yesterday after too much time drinking, and fell flat on my face into my first day. It would have been real easy to say "screw it", and accept the fact I'm meant to drink. But, that is not the case. I know life is so much better without it. It takes work and dedication, and as time moves on, you reap the benefits of hard work. And it's worth every moment. I, too, have to reach that point again. Findout what method makes it "stick" as quoted above.

I wish you the best!

I had 7 years sober and relapsed for EIGHT years before coming back. I always warn people here that you never know if you will never make it back from your next relapse, but you have made me look at the flip side. While what I say is true, you also never know when your next try at sobriety will stick. Thanks for that...I guess it's important to view it from both sides of the coin.

We must learn from our relapses though or we are doomed to repeat them. They say doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity. I guess not doing anything (to stay sober) over and over expecting different results would be the same thing.
