Fast heartrate and benzo withdrawal.

Not after medical advice, I'm off to the doc this morning. She openly admits she doesn't know much about Benzos.

My resting heart rate has been 108 for the last 2 weeks or so. It's normally 50-60 (and it was when I was in detox.). My blood pressure is also high when it is normally low.

Anyone else had this? These drugs have destroyed me

Maybe it's worth travelling to a bigger city to find a Dr with Benzo experience?

Dee is right, I think you need more medical help than you have found.

Yeah you're probably right. It seems ridiculous seeing as its been nearly
A month. And I spent 2 weeks in detox before that.

I will see what happens this morning. She did mention when I saw her before detox speaking to an expert in toooomba.

That's good to know.

The dr put me on a beta blocker which might help with anxiety too. I won't stay on it long and see how I go.

All withdrawal produces a fast, annoyingly rapid heart rate. When I first started detoxing, I had a racing heart-rate, sweats, muscle spasms, saw black dots, and had massive anxiety. It lasted about 2 weeks, then slowly got better. It wasnt fun, and I am glad it sucked because I remember it like it was yesterday, and that is great ammo against my addiction.

Thanks, glad it got better for you.

Mine started 3.5-4 weeks out of detox. The dr prescribed a beta blocker today. Will see how I go.

Thank you. I was put on a beta blocker yesterday and feel better already. Ideally I'd like not to be on medication at all so I will do it short term but its nice to feel a little better.

Yeah, on my first post to the forum, that was the main thing I was noticing- my BP went through the roof (it was already high, but not close to THAT high), and my heart rate was almost double what it usually was. Because I already had high BP, I had beta-blockers available from my last "big city" trip. It went down after about a week of taking the pills.
Withdrawal is different for everyone, but what you're describing doesn't seem too out of the ordinary...even almost a month in. I would encourage you to see a doctor who knows about this sort of thing. I also don't live anywhere near decent medical care, so I know that is easier said than done...but if the symptoms keep persisting, it's worth it.
