Need a kick

Hi guys,
I drank on holiday, been back a week and I can't stop it again. So upset with myself. A bottle of wine a day again and I'd been doing so well - this is so hard

It's hard but entirely possible Clary. And just like everything in life, it's not easy because it's worth it. Have you considered some local support or counseling?

You CAN stop.

"I can't stop it" is your AV. Don't listen.

Post, post, post. Read, read, read. Then post some more. SR will chase AV away.

Try to get just one day in away from the wine. Find some activity away from home and the bars. Just keep yourself occupied by the hour until you need to go to sleep. I've found if you can just get one day in, it makes the next day easier until you can get yourself back on track.

Try to think about WHY you want to be drinking. The reality is that you can stop. It is hard, but you can stop. Dump out all of the alcohol in your house. Do not buy more. Do not allow people for the time being to bring alcohol in to your home. Keep reaching out to SR for support!

It is your addiction telling you that you 'can't' quit drinking. Truth is, you can, tho it takes effort on your part. You've got to make some serious changes in your lifestyle to stay sober but it's worth it.

Hi claryhen

Have you considered AA? Some local support and a local activity (meetings) could help you kick-start things and then keep you on the better path.

God bless +
