Solar flairs have been huge this month - 3 major X class in 24 hours around mid month. X class are the largest explosions in the universe, and anecdotally I heard it was a once in 5k year event. Photos are awesome from NASA.

Did anyone catch the auroras in person? I've yet to see them.
