Hi Sober Buds
I am sober STILL. No booze for 7 months now. Happy anniversary MidnightBlue! Feeling really crazy. I have'nt had a smoke in 3 months . I swear I can smell them sometimes and I mourn their absence. I dont miss being drunk and dumb though. I must be "coming to". I have been taking classes from a reiki master. I want to know why I am here. Why are any of us here. Eat food , breathe air, sometimes take poison to make us feel like "heaven", make more people ?????? What? Sobriety can be a real trip can't it sober buds? My Doc put me on Synthroid today. I have been sleeping 12-14 hours a day and my tongue is swollen. I can hardly walk. My thyroid shut down. No one in my family has ever had this problem. I think drinking 2-3 bottles of wine and whiskey every day really messed me up. If any young people are reading this you might want to quit while youre young. Namaste my friend!

Congrats on being sober!
Hey, I'm 31 with chronic high blood pressure and heart issues...all due to drinking. One of my best friends died at 43 due to heart disease brought on by decades of heavy drinking. I have a friend at 28 who's been heavily drinking since 14 that has undergone 2 heart surgeries. I can definitely say- I wish I had quit years ago, and hope younger alcoholics can see these examples in their own community and maybe put 2 and 2 together.

Congrats on 7.5 months and sobriety and quitting smoke.
Sorry about health issues. My thyroid isn't in great shape either, though it's not related to drinking.
