I have to quit before I die

Hey, everyone. I'm new to the forum and will probably be around in the future.

So, I've had issues with drinking and drugs in the past, but this last 48 hour binge has made me realize that I simply cannot continue like this anymore.

I am in so much physical pain right now that it's difficult to even type. The amount of pills, liquor, and smoke that went into my body over the last 2 days is ridiculous.

I hate myself right now, and I hate that I still cannot control myself and make better decisions.

But I am encouraged by this forum and how badly I want to quit drinking.

Welcome Chris - glad you've found us

There's a lot of folks here who've turned their lives around.
It's never too late

I really recommend you see a Dr if you're in any kind of pain, too. It really is better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks, but the pain I'm currently in is just from a royal hangover. I've toyed with the idea of not drinking anymore in the past, but I've never really been that serious about it. But, seriously, I could have easily had a heart attack with the amount of crap that I was putting into my body over the last 48 hours. I just can't continue living like that.

Hi Chris. It's great to have you join us. The people here helped me quit a life long drinking habit. You can do it, too.

I was at that same point - the binges would put me in terrible pain and misery. I felt the way you do - we just know when we can't go on with it anymore. Every time I drank it was taking me to the same dangerous place. I also couldn't sober up and come back from the hangovers anymore the way I once could. It was taking it's toll. I made it out of hell - and you can too. I'm glad you reached out for help. You can do this.

Hey Chris, I know exactly how you feel and I am here for the same reason - pills, drink, smoke, repeat. I hope you can find some inspiration and support here to discover yourself without poison.

Welcome Chris,

The first few days are the hardest. Hope you feel better; the combination of hangover, fog and regret made my first days miserable. I hope you find as much kindness and support here as I have.

Be well!
